Sarah Baxter has been a loving mother and faithful wife to her husband Don Baxter. While Don chased skirts and shot hoops on the basketball court as a Hall Of Famer in the athletics career, Sarah was the foundation and rock of her family.
She would absolutely never admit to having any regrets choosing to be a stay at home mom and having such a large family (six kids), just before she settled into her golden years (aged up into an elder), she suddenly found herself wanting to earn a little extra income. So why not see what it would be like to join the law enforcement field and see what that’s like?
Scenario: Take a Family Sim who has a large family but also a LTW in a specific career field and have them go after it while trying to juggle being the homemaker. You will need the Job Options Mod Set by Lamare from MTS so elders can choose and get promotions past level 3.
Note: My Sim happened to roll a want to have a job (not a specific one) to come up with this scenario but yours doesn’t have to.
Exceptions: If your Sim happens to roll a want for a job not related to their LTW, try going with the other carer path too. Very often in real (not game) life we try many career paths even if they aren’t remotely to what we dream of. So if you’re Sim’s LTW is to become Captain Hero in the Law Enforcement field but rolls a want for the Slacker or Education, choose that instead. If Sim rolls a want for two different jobs, pick any method you want. IE: Roll a dice, base it off of their interests, enney, miney, mo, or however you feel. No wrong answers.
Keep In Mind: How will the family dynamic play out now that your homemaker has a job? What is the balancing act between career and home? Can they do it all? Even if their children and husband are fine with it, do the relationships slowly decay? How does the cooking and cleaning suffer? Do you hire a maid? Do you set aside extra leftovers in the fridge for the children? Does the partner step up and play a more pivotal role in said cooking and cleaning? Do you set extra time aside for date nights now and how fast does your Sim climb their career ladder?
