Friendship Mods

1.) Better or No Lost Friend Notifications by BoilingOil

Two different mods. One to remove notifications when Sim friendships levels fall below 50 aka “no longer friends.” The second to shorten notifications to just read “Sim A” is no longer friends with Sim B.”

2.) Gnome Hack by BoilingOil

This is an alternative for Monique’s Relationships Panel Remover, and it uses the code Monique developed. The only change is, whereas Monique cloned the Kozy Kitsch Gnome, this is grafted her code onto the Maxis object itself. The only advantage is: this is much smaller: only 10% of the original object.

3.) Social Group Greetings by BoilingOil

In a default vanilla game with Apartment Life created social townies. Social class townies have their own special gestures, stories, and attires. If Sims do a gesture or tell a story corresponding their social class, they will get a relationship boost. This mod makes it so instead of guessing which social class group the Sim is in to get the appropriate relationship boost, they need to pass a series of two check points and they will automatically default greet the Social Townie with the right greeting. All others, however, will just mess about in the normal fashion, choosing the standard greeting.

4.) Social Kiss Cheek by BoilingOil

This mod will allow you to direct your sims to kiss others, and it will have the same ‘value’ as a family kiss, in that it does not have any romantic meaning. But sims will not do this autonomously, so you’re in full control.

5.) All Walkbys by Cyjon

Makes it more likely that a walkby will be a sim you already know instead of a stranger

6.) Relationship Decay Fix by Cyjon

Fixes bug which causes game to error out when calculating the 4 pm relationship decay on very large families. If you don’t play with a mod like Bigger Families then you probably don’t need this, though it doesn’t hurt to have it. However if you play very large households with lots of friends, you should definitely get this.

7.) Reputation New Friend Fix by Cyjon

Fixes a reputation rewards bug where the game overwrites a variable, potentially befriending sims like Baby New Year.

8.) More sensible “Can my friend come over, too?” by Kestrellyn

You know how when you invite sims to come over, they sometimes say “can my friend come, too?” and then if you say yes they show up with someone else? In theory, it’s great when the person you invited brings one of their friends over, because then you can maybe introduce someone new to the rest of your family and maybe it’s someone you want to build relationships with. But in practice it is terrible, because the invited sim always brings over really inappropriate people, like their mother, or their professor, or a teenage townie they haven’t talked to in 30 sim years, or a dormie they used to date in college. And since the game doesn’t tell you who they’re inviting, you never know when you should be saying no.

With this hack, there are some restrictions on who can be invited over in this manner.
– The “friend” must be in the same age stage as the invited sim. For this purpose, young adults are not the same age stage as adults. No more bringing your professor with you to do bubble at the frat house! If you’re still friends with your professor after you’ve graduated, you are free to invite them over to engage in normal adult socializing, as long as they aren’t old enough to be your mother.
– Under no circumstances will sims invite their parents over, even if they are the same age stage.
– This includes the logic improvement from phonehack, wherein the friend is required to actually be friends with the invitee, and not just some rando who merely doesn’t hate their guts.

In addition to these requirements, the dialog will now tell you the first name of the “friend”, such as “Can my friend Joe come over, too?” That way, if they’ve still manage to choose someone unsuitable, or if they are trying to invite their spouse to their extramarital affair or something, you can be sure to say no.

9.) Bring Real Friends by Lenna9

This mod is not exactly a fix, rather an improvement. Sometimes, when you invite a Sim over, they ask if their “friend” can come too – but it’s usually just a random townie with an STR greater than -25. With this mod, the required STR value is 50, so it will be a real friend.

10.) BFF Memory Text Fix by Menaceman44

11.) “Just Be Friends” Social by Midge The Tree

A non-autonomous social available to teens-up towards sims if at least one of them has crush and/or love flags for the other but they aren’t going steady/married/engaged. They’ll perform the generic ask animations (also seen when sims ask each other if they want to play catch, for example) and then all crush/love flags between them get cleared.

12.) BFF’s Are For 12s by Pescado
Apartment Life ll Free Time

BFF nonsense now limited to 12 and under or family. Seriously, have you ever heard an adult have such silliness in anything other than a decidedly sarcastic way? 12s keep them when growing up, but do not gain any more afterwards.

13.) Swindlers List by Pescado
Apartment Life ll Free Time ll Bon Voyage ll Seasons ll Pets ll OFB

Are your salespeoples’ lists of unwanted friends getting unnecessarily large
and bloated from all the random people they meet on the job? Playable sims
performing sales actions will not gain +rel above ~35 unless they are
already friends, preventing them from acquiring a bazillion unwanted
often-townie friends.

14.) No Autonomous BFF Greet by Squinge

This mod prevents sims from autonomously doing the BFF greet interaction.

15.) No BFF Spam by Squinge

This mod prevents sims from getting bff memories after they have made 10 bff’s.

16.) No Relationship Decay by Squinge

This mod prevents relationship decay it also prevents the messages below from popping up. “Sim 1 and Sim 2 are no longer best friends” and “Sim is no longer a family friend.” There is a version that only decays friendship on Fridays.
