1.) Digging Accident by Lamare
This mod adds dangerous digging accidents to The Sims 2, introducing the possibility of Sims accidentally striking underground electrical wires while searching for treasure.
When a Sim hits a buried electrical wire, they may be electrocuted and cause a power outage on the lot. If Lamare’s Electrical Box mod is installed, the damaged wiring must be repaired by an authorized repairman before the hole can be filled in and electricity restored. Players can report the accident to the utility company or wait for the problem to be discovered. Without the Electrical Box mod, Sims can still experience electrocution, but no power outage or additional repairs will occur. This mod adds an element of risk and realism to treasure digging, making the activity more unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
2.) Fixed SimWardrobe’s Employee Digging Controller by Lamare
This mod fixes an issue with SimWardrobe’s Employee Digging Controller in The Sims 2 that caused the controller to stop functioning properly after a period of use.
Previously, the controller could repeatedly generate errors, forcing players to purchase a replacement and reassign employees nearly every Sim day. Lamare’s fix resolves this issue, allowing the controller to continue functioning without frequent replacement or reassignment. This improvement makes managing employees assigned to digging tasks more reliable and convenient.

SimWardrobe’s Employee Digging Controller is a functional object for The Sims 2 that allows players to assign employees to dig for treasure at an owned business. Normally, Sims must dig for treasure themselves. With this controller, business owners can hire employees and assign them to perform digging tasks automatically, making it possible to operate a mining or treasure-hunting business. The treasures employees uncover are placed directly into the business owner’s inventory rather than the employee’s inventory. The controller also allows employees to use available shower facilities to clean themselves up before returning to work.
How it works:
For example, you could create a mining business where several employees spend their shifts digging for treasure. Your Sim owns the business, supervises the workers, and collects the discoveries without having to do all the digging personally.
3.) Mod Your Dig + Tree Seeds by Lamare
This mod expands the digging system in The Sims 2 by allowing Sims to uncover a wider variety of items, including gardening seeds, fossils, bones, and other collectibles.
In addition to the usual rocks, treasure chests, maps, and water pipes, Sims can discover Decat’s fossils and bones, seeds for Maxis plants and trees, and seeds for Aysarth’s custom orchard trees and crops from the Grow Your Greens and Pumpkin Patch sets. The mod also adjusts the probability of finding different items while digging, making the activity more varied and rewarding. Players using Lamare’s Digging Accident mod can also encounter electrical wires while digging.
This version builds upon earlier modifications by HugeLunatic and TeaAddictYT, adding support for additional gardening content.
