On this page you will find mods pertaining to helping you build your General Businesses found within The Sims 2. Such businesses as, a bakery, a boutique, a bowling alley, or a club to name a few. 1.) Residential Shopping by BoilingOil
Sell food, clothing, magazine racks, and such from a home business. Changes the objects themselves and will have a custom content star next to it but their are instructions in the link on how to get around that if it bothers you.
2.) Casual Jobs Fix (for bartender, barista or DJ) by Cedrigo
You want your sim to work as bartender, barista or D.J. while visiting a community lot? But you are annoyed because your sim interrupts his task as soon as a random visitor attempts to interact with him? This is a bug that came out with OFB, and affects community lot’s workers who are not NPC or business owners/employees. Sims will now focus on their task and only stop their job as it was intended in previous expansion packs (Uni & NL): when their motives are too low, or if you tell them to stop, etc.
3.) Lost & Found – Lit Clothing Shop Sign by Lamare
Turns out, there was a lit texture for clothing shop sign, all this time, but a mix-up in text files prevented it from showing up. Technically, material names and subset names were wrong.
So, just to be clear, this is not a recolor, but unlocked lit state that meant to be available for the shirt sign. Some other signs already have it enabled.
4.) Salon Chair Fix by Lenna9
There are some problems with how the salon chair works. When a Sim is browsing the salon chair and the Browse bar gets filled, and at that moment you interrupt that Sim with another interaction, the action cancels, forcing them to start over. And even if the action succeeds, if the chair is currently in use, or another Sim is blocking the way, they won’t wait and the interaction cancels entirely. This mod fixes these issues, now the action can not be interrupted by the player or other Sims, making the stylist business much more efficient.
5.) Business Owners Can Be Baristas by Midge The Tree
In the vanilla game, if a business owner or family member attempted to work as a barista at the University espresso bar on their owned business lot, the game wouldn’t correctly set the espresso bar as having a barista and would stop customers from queuing up for coffee. This mod fixes that.

Try-on clothes no longer uses extended pointless rack flipping.
7.) DJ Booth Teen Fix by Squinge
This mod fixes a bug in the game that prevented teens from being assigned to work as a DJ.
8.) Gender Preference Shop Clothing Racks by Squinge
This mod allows you to sell only men’s or only women’s clothing, it works for buy, browse, suggest outfit for, & try on.
9.) Order Drink Owner Fix by Squinge
This mod prevents owner sims & managers from buying drinks while your shop is open.
