Everything Sims 2

For Hydrophobic Sims:
– They won’t autonomously use diving boards, pool slides, hot tubs, hot springs and log roll pits.
– They will always chicken out when using the diving board and won’t gain fun from using the pool slide.
– They can’t float on their back when in the pool.
– They rapidly lose fun when in a pool, the ocean, a hot tub or in a hot spring.
– They will exit the hot tub when their fun is low.
– Their fun motive will drastically drop when falling from the log roll pit.

For Sims that Loves to Swim:
-They are more attracted to ladders, diving boards and pool slides* when they need fun.
– They are always eager to dive when using a diving board.
– They gain fun faster than other Sims when in the pool or in the ocean.

Teens and older Sims won’t autonomously use the Wet n’ Wild Water Wiggler (unless they have the Childish trait and don’t have the Hydrophobic trait). Servos and children with the Hydrophobic trait won’t autonomously use it either.

This mod makes promotions easier to obtain for Sims who have a trait that fits with their current career. For these Sims, they can still have a chance to be promoted even if they have one (1) skill point OR one (1) friend behind the usual requirement. Also, Sims might have a chance to start at a higher level in these careers if they found it on the computer.

Here is the list of careers with their traits. One trait is enough for having the bonus:

Oceanography → Loves to Swim, Sailor

This will implement traits when Sims are using or want to use showers and bathtubs (and sinks for those inappropriate ones).

For Sims with the Hydrophobic trait:
– They will only autonomously bath or shower if their hygiene is less than -40.*
– They are depressed when they are told to take a bath or a shower (the reaction is more intense if the Sim also has the Dramatic trait).
– They lose a bit of fun in the bathtub/shower if they were told to.
– They sigh after taking a bath/shower.

The base mod (edited by Midge the Tree) is itself built on an older ocean swimming tweak.

Midge’s Mod:
– Enable autonomous ocean swimming
– Adjust autonomy based on personality/traits
// Hydrophobic Sims → less likely to swim
// “Loves to Swim” Sims → more likely to swim
Optionally restrict swimming by season/temperature
👉 So it’s basically a smart autonomy mod for beach lots.

Lamare didn’t redesign the mod—they fixed the broken routing/interaction logic. Specifically, the fix:
✔ Prevents Sims from attempting to swim in invalid tiles (no more “ground swimming”)
✔ Keeps the hydrophobic / loves-to-swim behavior intact
✔ Updates the interaction so it matches Lamare’s newer, more stable version

Lamare gives you two options:
Except Winter version → Sims can swim in multiple seasons if it’s not too cold
Summer Only version → Sims will only autonomously swim in summer
