Put this object in a sim’s inventory, and that sim will no longer get promotions. Any sim with this object in inventory will be unable to raise job performance high enough to allow promotion. This is true regardless of mood, platinum status, or the Industrious vacation benefit. Sims who already have performance above this level will have it pushed down below promotion limit at the beginning of the next work day. If the sim is already at work when this object is placed in inventory, promotion is still possible. Performance is adjusted by the stopinator only when the sim starts the work day. There are three files in the zip. You definitely need the main “CJ-JobStopinator” file. The other two are optional.
9.) Less Late Penalty by Cyjon
Being late for work is no longer worse than skipping the day entirely. In the unmodified game, if you are late three times you are automatically fired. Yet you can miss three consecutive days of work without vacation and suffer a significant performance penalty but keep your job. So it’s actually better to blow off work than to go in an hour late. Under this mod, being late imposes 80% of the performance penalty for missing the entire day. You can still be fired for low performance, but can no longer be fired for being late three days.

PTO- Paid Time Off. These mods make the bcons that come with careers obsolete. They make all careers respond in the same manner, both maxis and custom, and give the same amount of time off. here are two versions for base game through seasons, PTO 3 and PTO 5. The Freetime through Mansions version is essentially the same except for the fact that the lifetime of luxury life time award makes the game build them even faster. You can actually use the base game version if you wish to not get any benefit from the life time award for whatever reason. PTO 3 builds a vacation day up after 3 days of work. PTO 5 builds a vacation day up after 5 days of work.
16.) Job options mod set by Lamare
This is a set of global mods that change a few things about jobs.
– Choose part-time or full-time career type: A dialog pops up when your sim is about to use computer or paper to find a job that asks if you would like a full time job or a part time job.
– Ask before promoting: Promotions are mostly offered instead of being pushed on sims and pets. A dialog pops up for player to accept or decline new position. Promotions can happen on special occasions like when a random boss’s cousin promises promotion (networking bonus), after the next work day, sims are presented with an offer. Or when a colleague pulls some strings (good relationships or love?), sims get an offer. A better promotion deal means Sims have a 40% chance of getting second offer, after they decline the first one, provided they qualify and have good job performance. Better promotion deal takes sims to even higher position (skip level), but never to the top.
– Jobs in University ‘hood: Sims and pets can work while being in university ‘hood. Sims from teen to elder, including young adults, can find a job on computer and newspaper.
– Young adults want and fear work: Young adults can have wishes and fears about work: find a job, go to work, get a promotion, etc. Young adults may want to find a job only if their interest in work is higher then in school and entertainment, OR if they have less then §100 in funds. Thus, fewer students want to get a job. Working sims may want to find another career, if their job performance is poor (not only young adults). Makes for a better story: sometimes people want to change careers, and that’s fine.
– Part & full time careers mutually satisfy wants: Getting a part-time job satisfies a want to get a full-time job in a corresponding career and vice versa – getting a full-time job satisfies a want to get a part-time job in a corresponding career. Only works for maxis careers, because of individual ID’s.
17.) Lower job promotion chances by Lamare
Everyday promotions seem too rushed sometimes. Normally, sims have a 100% chance to be promoted, given they meet the next level reqs. Make it 75%, 50%, 25% or even 10%. Let them stick around in their positions for a (random) while longer.
18.) Upgrade to Full Time Job by Lamare
This is a custom phone call that allows sims to upgrade from a part-time career to a corresponding full-time career.
Remember how working teens grow up and get transferred from a teen career to an adult career branch (e.g. teen culinary → adult culinary with promotion)? This mod does the same thing, but for adults and elders, and at any time. Just call Work → Upgrade to Full Time Career. The phone call is available to sims who have a part time job. On top of the standard procedure, your sim will get a memory of promotion and fulfill some wants: to enter career track, to get a promotion, to reach certain career level.

Back in the days of the base Sims 2 game, there were 10 job tracks and searching for your dream job in the Newspaper or on a computer generally only took a couple of days before the random choice of 3 or 4 jobs respectively, came up with your chosen career track. The Job Seeking Notice board allows you to select any job directly without trawling through lots of jobs you are not interested in.
The job is offered to you in exactly the same way as from a newspaper or computer (using the online job finder), that is, you are offered a job at the appropriate level (based on previous jobs, e.g. as a teen; degree or lack of it; pregnancy) and it checks if you already have a job that you really want to change to this new one. It will not allow you to waltz into the job centre and demand a level 10 job in any career – that’s just not true to life.
