The following are all known mods listed for the creator MogHughson. If any mods aren’t working or more mods by this creator are found, please use the contact page to email me.
1.) Apartments and Shopping, on the same Lot! – Mod is listed under the following categories:
// Apartment Mods Subcategory
// Community Lot Mods Category
You can now build a combo-lot, one that is residential (specifically apartments) but with a community lot flavor too. The lot will be an apartment lot when you make it, not a community lot, so you cannot send Sims to it like a community lot. This mod will spawn the required NPCs for objects, for example, a Clerk to manage a cash register. This mod does not spawn additional visitors, as with your neighbors, the landlord/lady and walk-bys there will be quite enough people on the lot as it is.
This mod contains additional notes from the creator, please see in link.
2.) Autonomous Put Away Leftovers – Found in the Mealtime Mods Subcategory
This mod makes the Put Away Leftovers interaction on plates and bowls autonomous. This mod is an alternative version to the same mod by creator Ancient Highway, which is much smaller, a global change instead of a default replacement and thus will be less likely to clash with other mods, and is much smaller in your downloads folder. Another alternate version of this mod by BoilingOil can be found here.
3.) Become an author … without a computer – Found in the Writing Mods Category
This mod allows you to write a novel without using a computer. Great for your historic hoods, or generally poor authors who can’t yet afford to buy a computer.
4.) Be nice to teddy – Found in the Toy Mods Subcategory
This a mod that removes the “Slam” animation from the random set of animations used when a child or toddler plays with any of the teddy bears. So now your little kiddies won’t seem to have such violent tenancies!!
5.) Birthday Cake with a Birthday Wish – Found in the Holiday & Celebration Mods Category
When you blow out the candles of a birthday cake, you should always make a wish (that’s the tradition where I come from anyway). Well now your Sims get a wish when they blow of the candles of their birthday cake too. Of course, only children believe in wishes, so this only applies when you grow up from a child to a teen or from a teen to the next stage of life. After that, you become way too cynical to believe in wishes on your birthday cake. The wishes re-use the functionality provided by the Genie in the Lamp introduced by the Freetime EP, so this EP is required to use this object too.
The chances of your wish coming true run with the same percentages as the chances of successfully using an aspiration reward object, i.e. in gold and platinum aspiration states, you’re onto a winner, below gold, it’s a bit of a lottery. Of course, unlike aspiration reward objects, there is no downside other than your wish simply being wasted (and you only get two in a lifetime!)
6.) Decorative Parking Spaces – with random cars parked – Found in the Car Mods Subcategory
This object is a Decorative Parking space. When placed on a lot it will randomly generate a car parked in the space. To use it, first lay your preferred car park flooring; e.g tarmac, grass, cobblestones, then locate the Decorative Parking Space object in Build Mode->Garage (along with the driveways) and place one or more of them on top of your pre-prepared car park flooring. Cars will only be generated when live mode starts. Then the cars generated will stick for the period of time you are at the community lot. This has an extra benefit – if you don’t like the random selection of cars that have been generated you can try again, by switching out of and then back to live mode.
The cars will be randomly generated from the own able cars available in your game and downloads folders (see small caveat). The randomness is based on the time of day and the type of community lot and should thus mean that an appropriate number of cars are parked whenever you are visiting your community lot. These cars in the parking spaces are not yours, someone else parked them there. You can’t sit in them, drive away in them, or in any way use them. All interactions on these cars have been disabled. This should have no affect on your real cars (i.e. those that are not generated by the parking space).
7.) “Dress Me Correctly” Mod – Found in the Clothing Mods Subcategory
A global mod that controls which outfit the Sim puts on when they get out of the shower/bath, instead of it always being the Sims everyday outfit. Now when your Sim has finished their shower/bath they will get dressed into an appropriate outfit based on how close they are to starting any of the following ‘tasks’:-
Going to Work: Some jobs have special uniforms, and some the Sim goes wearing their Everyday outfit. Bear this mind if you see your Sim change into Everyday clothes when you are expecting Work clothes. The easy way to tell is if your Sim owns a Dresser; there will be a separate menu option “Dress for Work” if this Sim has a special outfit to wear to work.
Go to School: Private School has a uniform, but for Public School your Sim goes wearing their Everyday outfit. Bear this mind if you see your Sim change into Everyday clothes when you are expecting School clothes.
Go to Bed: Bedtime is calculated based off School Start time for Children and Teens and off Work Start Time for Adults and Elders. This means that bedtime moves for Adults and Elders.
If the time is two hours prior to one of these ‘tasks’ and not yet half way through the time spent doing the ‘task’ then they will change into the appropriate clothing for that ‘task’ as they finish their Shower/Bath. Otherwise they will change into everyday clothes. Please note that your Sim only changes clothes if they take a shower or a bath – it’s not going to direct them to change just because it’s two hours before Work/School/Bedtime.
8.) Dress toddlers correctly too! – Mod is listed under the following categories:
// Clothing Mods Subcategory
// Clothes & Nursery Subcategory
In the game, you change a toddler’s diaper or bathe a toddler, they will be redressed in whatever they were previously wearing prior to that action. This mod will alter that clothing change to be time based. If it is after 7am the toddler will be dressed in everyday clothes. If it is before 7am or after 8pm the toddler will be dressed in PJs. Although the idea was spawned from the “Dress me correctly” Mod, this package is completely separate and independent from that Mod. You do not require one to use the other, but equally you can have both without problems. This allows you to mix and match this Mod with your favourite adult dressing mods.
9.) Empty Maxis Potty Chairs using a bin – Mod is listed under the following categories:
// Toddler Mods Subcategory
// Trash Mods Subcategory
So this is a mod to the Maxis potties so that when they need to be emptied, the Sim looks for a bin instead of a toilet. A bin is a rather more appropriate item to have in a nursery than an adult toilet! For all the custom content potty chairs out there, it will not affect them since the code is not global for these objects (Why Maxis, why?). If you are the creator of a custom content potty chair and would like to include this change (very small) in your object, see the link.
10.) Fixed Maxis Bug: Apartment Lots … any incoming calls? – Found in the
// Apartment Mods Subcategory
// Phone Mods Subcategory
Fixes a bug that comes with AL that fails all incoming calls to apartments. So, if you’ve noticed that you don’t get incoming calls to your Apartment lots, if you turn on boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true, and you get a pop-up window notifying you of an error on an incoming call type object, then you have this problem.
11.) Fixed Rat Race Magazine – Found in the Hobby Magazine Mods Subcategory
There are several interest increasing magazines in the Sims 2 game which can be bought from magazine racks on community lots. The defect is that the magazine does not increase the level of interest in the area the Sims is reading about. Prior to the Freetime EP this defect does not occur. After the Freetime EP this defect does occur, but only in the ‘Rat Race’ magazine and only for the Work interest. You therefore do not need this fix if you do not have the Freetime EP or any EPs after Freetime. However the fix has been done in such a way that it is also safe to put in a Base Game, so you can download it ready to fix a later EP that you plan to buy.
12.) Historic Job Seeking Noticeboard – Found in the Medieval Mods Category
These are recolors of the Job Seeking Noticeboard
13.) Job Seeking Noticeboard (One-Tile) – Including Pet Jobs – Found in the Job Related Mods Subcategory
Back in the days of the base Sims 2 game, there were 10 job tracks and searching for your dream job in the Newspaper or on a computer generally only took a couple of days before the random choice of 3 or 4 jobs respectively, came up with your chosen career track. The Job Seeking Notice board allows you to select any job directly without trawling through lots of jobs you are not interested in.
The job is offered to you in exactly the same way as from a newspaper or computer (using the online job finder), that is, you are offered a job at the appropriate level (based on previous jobs, e.g. as a teen; degree or lack of it; pregnancy) and it checks if you already have a job that you really want to change to this new one. It will not allow you to waltz into the job centre and demand a level 10 job in any career – that’s just not true to life.
14.) Job Seeking Noticeboard (Two-Tile) – Including Pet Jobs – Found in the Job Related Mods Subcategory
Same as the single tile mod.
15.) Maxis Bathmats made thirsty – Found in the Bathroom Mods Subcategory
This is a kitchen rug that is supposed to be good for spills (according to it’s catalog description) – well now it is.
16.) Newspaper Rack – Buy a Newspaper – Found in the Newspaper Subcategory
A newspaper rack so you can go and buy a newspaper whenever you want. Especially useful if you have one of the “No more Newspapers” hacks, but equally if you just want to nip out for a newspaper.
No matter what EPs you have (including none) the newspaper rack will allow you to sneak a read at a newspaper without buying it – come on now – own up – we’ve all done that. Once read – the newspaper will be left lying around for the next person to pick up – entirely unaware it hasn’t been paid for. Poor shopkeeper.
17.) No more clothes changing at doorways – Found in the Clothing Mods Subcategory
A mod that means Sims will no longer change into or out of Outerwear as they go through a door. There are three versions of this mod, to cover various possible preferences on behavior.
Version A: This version means that no-one, controllable Sims or visitors, ever change clothes when they walk through the door. This does have the side effect that visitors and walk-bys that you invite in, stay in their outerwear if they arrived wearing it (i.e. because it is cold outside). This visitor behavior may seem a bit odd but at least there is no more clothes changing going on at the door.
Version B: This version means that no controllable Sims ever change clothes when they walk through the door. Visitors that arrive wearing outerwear (i.e. because it is cold outside) will change clothes however. This keeps you in full control of your Sims, and allows visitors to do an appropriate thing since they are not controlled by you.
Version C: This version means that no-one, controllable Sims or visitors, ever change clothes when they walk through the door. It also changes visitors and walk-bys so that they do not wear outerwear even if it is cold outside. They may look a little cold as they wander past but at least there is no more clothes changing going on at the door and your visitors won’t be sitting there wearing a coat for the duration of their visit.
18.) No more Hazardous Weather! – Found in the Weather Mods Category
This is a mod that removes the hazardous nature of some weather. Specifically it makes the chance of Lightning zero, and it makes the chance of hail bludgeoning zero.
19.) Park in the Car Park – Found in the Car Mods Subcategory
This mod updates the driveway objects to allow the placing of them on community lots where they can then be used to park on by Sims driving to that lot.
20.) Pets and Children share Bed – Found in the Bed/Bedroom Mods
This is a mod that allows Pets and Children to use the bed at the same time. Pets can sleep or relax at the foot of the bed whilst the child sleeps or relaxes at the head of the bed. This only changes the behavior when a child is using the bed, there is no room at the foot of the bed when a Sim who is older than a child sleeps on it. Of course pets can already sleep on the unoccupied half of a double bed.
21.) “Put your homework away properly!” – Found in the Homework Mods Subcategory
This object is a desk locator. You place it on a desk or table and have your Sim claim the desk via the menu on this object. Then, next time they come home from school with homework, they will put their homework on their own desk (assuming no homework already on the lot that they stack upon in preference to finding a desk). You can also use it simply as a general location marker for homework to be dropped, by placing it somewhere that isn’t sharing a tile with a desk or table, then the Sim will drop the homework on the floor nearby.
22.) Postal System for the Sims – Greetings Cards – Found in the Letters and Mail Mods Subcategory
This mod allows Sims to purchase boxes of greetings cards and send those cards to other Sims. It consists of a community lot rack from which the boxes are purchased, and the boxes themselves. However, the main part of this mod is to provide an infrastructure for anyone to make greetings cards to be sent using this system.
23.) Si’Down with your drink – Found in the Bar Mods Subcategory
There are various different drinks that a Sim can partake of when thirsty. Generally a Sim will sit down to drink their favorite tipple if there is a chair in the same room, but if not will stand around sipping away. This is different from the behavior with food where they will quite happily take food from the kitchen to the room next door where the dining table is, to sit down and eat it properly. So this mod changes the way all the various drinks provided in the Sims 2 game work, hopefully meaning in general, less Sims standing around drinking when there are perfectly good chairs that could be used!
24.) Simply Leftovers – Found in the Mealtime Mods Subcategory
This package changes the behavior of “Put Away Leftovers” when used on a group plate. There are two modes now for group plates as shown in the link. Once put away the leftovers are stored in the way you chose. You cannot change single plates back into a group plate again. In other words the decision is made at “Put Away” time.
25.) Six Christmas Greetings Cards – Mod is listed under the following categories:
// Holiday & Celebration Mods Category
// Letters and Mail Mods Subcategory
Here are six different Christmas Greetings Cards for use with the Postal System for the Sims – Greetings Cards.
26.) University Mod for use with the Desk Locator – Found in the University Homework Subcategory
Here is the mod required to have university students do their homework on a nominated desk in the same way as children now can using the desk locator. You will need to download the desk locator as well in order for this mod to be of any use to you. Without it, it will do no harm, just be dormant.
27.) Want Pet Only Doors? – Found in the Door Mods Subcategory
Here is a mod that changes the way the locks on doors work just very slightly. Without this mod “Lock for all Sims” will stop all people and all pets from going through a door. With this mod “Lock for all Sims” only stops people going through a door. If you want to also lock the door to Pets (i.e. deadbolt the door so no-one can go through) you must additionally select “Disallow Pets”.
28.) Watch TV from all chairs – Found in the TV Mods Subcategory
This is a mod that allows the watching of TV from those sorts of chairs and angles.
