1.) No Naked Emitters by BoilingOil

Sims will no longer be shocked at seeing other Sims not wearing clothes/naked.

2.) Hacked Dresser by Cathair2005

This dresser allows the following:
-Toddlers can plan outfits
-Toddlers can change outfit (even into undies which is just a nappy)
-Except for changing work clothes, sims no longer walk towards the dresser but get dressed and plan clothes immediately
-You can choose to “buy” new clothes of any type for $0.

3.) Sim Boutique Clothingrack by Christianlov

Sim Boutique Clothingrack is a easy to use wardrobe. Although it looks like a shopping rack, it has all the features of wardrobes. Also you can do surgery on sims, or summon and gussy up neighbors easily.

4.) Hats Don’t Change Clothes by Cyjon

Thinking Caps and Noodlesoothers no longer force sims into default clothing.

5.) No Outerwear Spin by Cyjon

Sims instantly change in and out of outerwear rather than spinning and causing a traffic jam in the doorway. Other clothing changes still use the spin.

6.) Sleepwear by Personality by Cyjon

Changes the logic for sims choosing what to wear when going to bed autonomously. Underwear vs. sleepwear is random with playful and outgoing sims more likely to go for underwear. Elders and pregnant sims always choose PJs.

7.) The Llamarizor by Echo

A painting that when placed on the lot will change all Sims clothing into the llama outfit. Including the grim reaper.

8.) Mannequins and Clothing Racks by Gdayars

In an unmodded game, clothing racks despite being labeled as “cheap” or “expensive” sell the same priced clothes. These racks have cheap, standard, and expensive versions and are not only able to buy off of a mannequin but also are setup to buy for maternity Sims and children. (Before an adult had to buy children’s clothes) The prices in the catalog are as follows: 1000 for the cheap racks, 2000 for standard, and 3000 for expensive. The children float when paying for the items in an unowned shop, but that is a cash register issue, not a rack issue.

9.) Pescado’s Clothing Tool Allows Same Category Outfit Switch by Gummilutt

A very niche thing, but if you ever use the clothing tool, you might have been irritated by the fact that it greys out the currently worn outfit. So if your sim is in everyday, and you changed their everyday, it forces you to switch to something else first and then back to everyday. There’s really no need for that, the game can handle it just fine if you switch to the same one.

If you are unfamiliar with this tool, it is pretty handy but there are some quirks. This is what the Directors Cut manual has to say.

It’s a clothing tool. Lets you buy new clothes for your sims in all categories with a single command (and inflated price premium!), and snarf career and special-event (wedding, graduation, etc.) outfits worn by your sims for use in the “Plan Outfit” dresser, plan all of your outfits at one click (after aging!), as well as gives you one last shot to plan your outfits before returning home from college (if global override hook included in zip is installed) so that your sims do not return to the family bin looking like hobos!

10.) Clothing Rack Can Be Placed In Inventory by Lenna9

Clothing racks from AL can be placed in the inventory, like other closets.

11.) Clothing Notification Fix by Lenna9

Fixed a bug where the Great! A member of the household has brought home some new clothes… notification was displayed even if the Sim had a clothing rack from AL.

12.) Bon Voyage Lip Ring FIX by Menaceman44

Fixes the lip ring from BV from inside out to right way up.

13.) ChristianLov’s Closet Plugin Updated for Seasons by Midge The Tree

This mod makes it so ChristianLov’s closet plugin can be used to get sims to change into outerwear.

14.) ChristianLov’s Gussy-Up Plugin Updated for Seasons by Midge The Tree

Similar to Closet Plugin but this is a prior version.

15.) Disable want To Buy New Clothes by Midge The Tree

A mod that disables the want to buy new clothes

16.) Want Disablers by Midge The Tree

Midge The Tree wrote a tutorial on how to disable wants and provided two that they made: Disable See ghost” Wants and Fears and Disable “Buy New Clothes” Want

17.) “Dress Me Correctly” Mod by MogHughson

A global mod that controls which outfit the Sim puts on when they get out of the shower/bath, instead of it always being the Sims everyday outfit. Now when your Sim has finished their shower/bath they will get dressed into an appropriate outfit based on how close they are to starting any of the following ‘tasks’:-
Going to Work: Some jobs have special uniforms, and some the Sim goes wearing their Everyday outfit. Bear this mind if you see your Sim change into Everyday clothes when you are expecting Work clothes. The easy way to tell is if your Sim owns a Dresser; there will be a separate menu option “Dress for Work” if this Sim has a special outfit to wear to work.
Go to School: Private School has a uniform, but for Public School your Sim goes wearing their Everyday outfit. Bear this mind if you see your Sim change into Everyday clothes when you are expecting School clothes.
Go to Bed: Bedtime is calculated based off School Start time for Children and Teens and off Work Start Time for Adults and Elders. This means that bedtime moves for Adults and Elders.

If the time is two hours prior to one of these ‘tasks’ and not yet half way through the time spent doing the ‘task’ then they will change into the appropriate clothing for that ‘task’ as they finish their Shower/Bath. Otherwise they will change into everyday clothes. Please note that your Sim only changes clothes if they take a shower or a bath – it’s not going to direct them to change just because it’s two hours before Work/School/Bedtime.

18.) Dress toddlers correctly too! by MogHughson

In the game, you change a toddler’s diaper or bathe a toddler, they will be redressed in whatever they were previously wearing prior to that action. This mod will alter that clothing change to be time based. If it is after 7am the toddler will be dressed in everyday clothes. If it is before 7am or after 8pm the toddler will be dressed in PJs. Although the idea was spawned from the “Dress me correctly” Mod, this package is completely separate and independent from that Mod. You do not require one to use the other, but equally you can have both without problems. This allows you to mix and match this Mod with your favourite adult dressing mods.

19.) No more clothes changing at doorways by MogHughson

A mod that means Sims will no longer change into or out of Outerwear as they go through a door. There are three versions of this mod, to cover various possible preferences on behavior.
Version A: This version means that no-one, controllable Sims or visitors, ever change clothes when they walk through the door. This does have the side effect that visitors and walk-bys that you invite in, stay in their outerwear if they arrived wearing it (i.e. because it is cold outside). This visitor behavior may seem a bit odd but at least there is no more clothes changing going on at the door.
Version B: This version means that no controllable Sims ever change clothes when they walk through the door. Visitors that arrive wearing outerwear (i.e. because it is cold outside) will change clothes however. This keeps you in full control of your Sims, and allows visitors to do an appropriate thing since they are not controlled by you.
Version C: This version means that no-one, controllable Sims or visitors, ever change clothes when they walk through the door. It also changes visitors and walk-bys so that they do not wear outerwear even if it is cold outside. They may look a little cold as they wander past but at least there is no more clothes changing going on at the door and your visitors won’t be sitting there wearing a coat for the duration of their visit.

20.) No Spin When Changing Clothes by Monique

This hack will skip the spinning animations.

21.) Wardrobe Cleaner by Mootilda

Have you ever wanted to clear out your wardrobe? If your sim family has too much clothing in their wardrobe, including all of that silly stuff that they grew up into, then here’s a solution. This SimPE wizard will remove all unused clothing from your family’s wardrobe.

22.) Clothing Tool by Pescado
Apartment Life ll Free Time ll Bon Voyage ll Seasons ll Pets ll OFB ll Nightlife ll University

It’s a clothing tool. Lets you buy new clothes for your sims in all categories
with a single command (and inflated price premium!), and snarf career and
special-event (wedding, graduation, etc.) outfits worn by your sims for use in
the “Plan Outfit” dresser, plan all of your outfits at one click(after aging!),
as well as gives you one last shot to plan your outfits before returning home
from college (if global override hook included in zip is installed) so that
your sims do not return to the family bin looking like hobos! Now includes
ZOMGPETZ!!!111oneoneone and BV shrapnel.

23.) No Unneeded Coats by Pescado
Apartment Life ll Free Time ll Bon Voyage ll Seasons

Sims that don’t need coats because they can’t freeze should no longer bother to waste time wearing them.

24.) Outfit Planner by Pescado
University ll Base Game

Gets rid of the inability to plan an outfit unless you have two valid outfits.
You will now be able to use the “plan outfit” for that category if you own
only one uniform in that category, not that you’ll really have very many
choices, unless you’re changing from the default duds you were given at age
transition, to something you just bought. But at least you won’t have to buy
two of them.

25.) Credit Where Its Due- Apartment Life’s Stolen Clothing Conversions by Phaenoh

In The Sims 2: Apartment Life, a lot of the “new” outfits weren’t actually new.
👉 They were age conversions of outfits from earlier packs (especially FreeTime) or reused outfits from other packs (Nightlife, Teen Style Stuff, etc.).

Basically, EA took existing clothes → converted them to other ages → re-released them as “new content”
😒 Why that’s a problem (in-game). Even though those clothes already existed, the game treats them as if they belong to Apartment Life.

🧠 What Phaenoh’s mod actually does. The name “Credit Where It’s Due” is literal. 👉 The mod reassigns each outfit to the expansion it originally came from. Fixes their internal flags so they match their “parent” outfit. So instead of “Apartment Life outfit” you get “FreeTime outfit (correctly labeled)”. “Nightlife outfit (correctly labeled)”.

🔧 Extra technical fix (important) Phaenoh also links the converted outfits back to their original texture files.
This means
📉 Smaller file sizes
📁 Less duplicate data
🧼 Cleaner game organization

⚠️ Important caveat (this matters)
Even though the mod relabels the outfits they still require Apartment Life to exist

26.) Elder Athleticwear AS ATHLETICWEAR! by Phaenoh

This mod takes clothes given to elders as everyday and reallocates them into the athletic wear category.

27.) Individual Soccer Uniform Hiders -Pick and Choose! by Phaenoh

Instead of having seven soccer outfits, pick and choose to hide one or all of them.

28.) Maxis Athleticwear as Athleticwear Game Mod -PLZ by Phaenoh

This mod will move (and removed, depending on which file you pick) the sweatsuits, tracksuits and men’s jumpsuits to the Athleticwear tab.

29.) Phaenoh’s Great Clothing Migration V2 -UPDATED by Phaenoh

Phaenoh’s Great Clothing Migration V2 is basically a massive “clean-up and reorganization” mod for The Sims 2 clothing catalog. It doesn’t add new clothes—it fixes how the existing ones are sorted so they actually make sense.

👕 The core problem it fixes
Out of the box, The Sims 2 has a ton of badly categorized clothing.
Winter coats showing up in Everyday, Pajamas appearing in Everyday or Formal, Athletic gear mixed into regular outfits, and Duplicate outfits across multiple categories. It gets worse as you add expansions—your catalog becomes a cluttered mess.

🧥 Example changes
✔ Everyday → Athletic: Tracksuits, Jerseys and Workout Clothes
✔ Everyday → Outerwear: Coats, Jackets and Winter Gear
✔ Everyday → Formal only: Fancy dresses and Wedding Outfits
✔ Age/category fixes: Some outfits become available to more ages or restricted to the appropriate life stage.

30.) Teen Athleticwear AS ATHLETICWEAR! by Phaenoh

If you don’t feel like using Phaenoh’s Great Clothing Migration then this mod just organizes teens clothing that are for everyday into the athletic category.

31.) Maxis Athletic Wear as… Athletic Wear by Richifrog

Changes outfits that come with the game for men that look like athletic wear but were never properly set as such.

32.) Working TSS Coat Hangers by Richifrog

Elite and Surfer coat hangers work as the coat rack from Seasons, Sims (teen or older) can change into/remove outerwear.

33.) Clothes Pay Door by Sim Logical

Each side is set separately. For each side you can set how much money, if any, your current family gets when visitors go through the door in that direction, and what, if anything, they should change into. The nude option is not included in this version, but is available from the adult downloads section at Mod The Sims 2. Although both versions have the same GUID, the adult version has an A at the end of the filename so if you are swapping between the versions you will need to remove the unwanted file.

34.) Clothes Change Controller by Sim Logical

A system of objects that tell your Sims to change outfits. Usually this will be as they come in through a door. At the moment this set comprises one vase with a menu that allows you to set the outfit to change into, and a global patch that makes all normal doors change your Sim as they walk through. Place in room or rooms that you wish your Sims to change before entering. Use the menu to choose which outfit Sims should change into and whether NPCs should also change.

35.) Change Clothes Patch by Sim Logical

This is an optional global patch which will make most normal (non-hacked) doors into outfit changing doors.  Does not work reliably on diagonal doors.

36.) Clothes Change and Security Door by Sim Logical

For players who do not wish to use a global patch for any reason. This door is dual purpose and acts as the non-global door for the Security (Apartment) System too

37.) Swim Sign by Sim Logical

If placed on any lot, will force all Sims into swimwear (without spinning) under the following circumstances:
– It is between 9am to 6pm
– The Sim is outside.
– Not an NPC, a vacation local, or an employee of an owned lot.
– The Sim is wearing outdoor clothes
– Visibly pregnant Sims
You need to click Activate on the sign’s menu to start it off (means you can leave it off for weddings etc). Current family is not changed into swimwear unless you choose “Include current family” from the menu. This was largely due to the annoyance of them being dressed ready to go on a tour and then having their clothes ripped off as they waited to get into the shuttle. Should work in any type of location.

38.) Formal Wear Sign by Sim Logical

When this is in a room, it changes all Sims in the room into formal wear under the following circumstances:
– Sim is not an NPC, a vacation local or an employee of an owned lot
– Visibly pregnant Sims
You need to click Activate on the sign’s menu to start it off (means you can use the room for other purposes at times). The current family are not included by default unless you choose for them to be on the object’s menu. Should work in any type of location.

39.) Modesty Sign by Sim Logical

When this is in a room, it changes all Sims in the room into normal wear under the following circumstances:
– Sims are wearing pajamas, underwear or naked.
-Sim is not an NPC, a vacation local or an employee of an owned lot
– Visibly pregnant Sims
Menu option “Toggle Model” cycles through original sign, hydrangea, vase of flowers, and still life painting. They can be put on the ground or most surfaces, but with the painting it doesn’t really go on the wall just stands on the floor looking like it’s on the wall. Use move_objects if you want to put something else on the same tile under it.

40.) Click On Sim to Change Clothes by Smonaff

This will enable you to change the active sim’s clothes by clicking on them and selecting the outfit you want then to change into from the Change Into Pie Menu.

42.) Shocked Hair With Any Outfit by Smonaff

43.) Sleep In Any Outfit by Smonaff

Allows your sims more choices of what to sleep in. Autonomous sims will still choose only pj’s or underwear.

44.) Streak While Fully Clothed by Smonaff

Sims will no longer get naked to streak but will still perform the streak animations. Will streak in what they are currently wearing.

This mod makes sims change to casual clothes when they get out of bed.

48.) Buy Maternity Clothes At Shop by Squinge

This mod allows your sims to buy custom maternity clothes at your shops/community lots.

49.) Casual Dress For Work by Squinge

This mod is only for Apartment Life. It’s based on Squinge and Ailias’ original mods to enable Sims to wear their casual (everyday) clothes to work instead of their crappy Maxis work clothes. Also enables Sims with custom body meshes (such as Athletic, Rio, Warlokk) to retain their own clothes for work.

50.) Change To Casual When Finished Swimming by Squinge

53.) Move Away From Dresser by Squinge

This mod makes sims move away from the dress after they are done using it.

54.) No Changing Clothes Collection by Squinge

This mod prevents sims from changing clothes before sleeping, working out, & swimming.

This mod makes sims dress in underwear after they exit the shower.

57.) Change into Gym clothes to Jump Rope by Velcositro

With this mod the sim will spin into Gym clothes to Jump Rope and spin out of it when they finish.
