Mods relating to newspapers in The Sims 2.
1.) Cancel Paper by Cyjon
After canceling actions with the newspaper, sims will put the paper down immediately rather than reading it briefly.
2.) Leave Paper Alone by Cyjon
Walkbys won’t read or steal the newspaper.
3.) No Steal Paper by Cyjon
Prevents passing enemies from stealing your newspaper. KNOWN ISSUE: Causes walkbys to sometimes run by without being greetable. This is because they try to steal the paper, are prevented, then run away with their imagined booty.
4.) Paper Count Fix by Cyjon
Kills false warnings about too many newspapers. Sometimes you get a warning about too many papers when you have only one or two lying around. That’s because you have a sim on the crapper reading an imaginary pulled-out-of-thin-air paper. This mod causes the game to count only real newspapers.
5.) Put Paper Down by Cyjon
Sims will be smarter about where to put down newspapers when finished with them. They will put it on a table rather than the floor. If the paper is outside, the sim will put it on a table inside. If the paper is inside, the sim will put it on a table in the same room. If no acceptable surface is available in the same room, the sim will put it on the floor rather than hiking to some obscure end table three floors away.
7.) Hold that newspaper and phone between actions and queue cell actions during calls by Lamare
As was mentioned by someone, sims shouldn’t drop newspaper if their next interaction is with the same paper. With this mod, sims hold the paper between actions, excluding debug ones, because those don’t have animations. They still fold and unfold it. Fixing this would require changing every newspaper interaction in an invasive way, and you want to save those for a better modding cause.
8.) Mini Fixes 2 by Lenna9
Invisible Newspaper Fix- In the unmodified game, when Sim steals a newspaper, the newspaper immediately becomes invisible. This has been fixed.
9.) Newspaper Rack – Buy a Newspaper by MogHughson
A newspaper rack so you can go and buy a newspaper whenever you want. Especially useful if you have one of the “No more Newspapers” hacks, but equally if you just want to nip out for a newspaper.
No matter what EPs you have (including none) the newspaper rack will allow you to sneak a read at a newspaper without buying it – come on now – own up – we’ve all done that. Once read – the newspaper will be left lying around for the next person to pick up – entirely unaware it hasn’t been paid for. Poor shopkeeper.
10.) Unsubscribe by Pescado
Paper airplanes will also count against newspaper maximum and suppress the warning message. If you turn 3 newspapers into airplanes, no more newspapers will be delivered.
