Playful Mods

Mods relating to less serious more playful interactions in the Sims 2. Please see specific subcategories for other specific social mods such as the annoying game suite, dating, friendship, humor, negative social interactions, parties, pranks and hijinks, and relationship mods.

1.) Less Bust A Move by BoilingOil

More reasonable expectations on the Bust a Move dance interaction. This mod now:
– Enabled adult & elders to dance with teens (before teens could dance w/them but not reversed)
– Minimal Active Personality points are required. This sets the minimal number of active points a sim must have to be able to do this. Lazy sims (less than 3 active points) will NOT autonomously Bust-A-Move.
– Minimal Outgoing Personality points are required. This sets the minimal number of Outgoing points a sim must have to be able to do this. Shy sims (less than 3 outgoing points) will NOT autonomously Bust-A-Move.
– Maximum Fatness allowed. Sets how fat a sim may be and still be allowed to Bust-A-Move. Sims with their fitness in the lower one-third of the spectrum will NOT autonomously Bust-A-Move.
–Maximum Age allowed. Determines at what age sims can still autonomously do this. Adults are set to default.

2.) Less Dance On Toes by BoilingOil

Restricts the dancing on toes interactions between children and older Sims and sets requirements for them to pass in order to be able to autonomous do so.
– Will not be an option to do so if there is no stereo in room.
– If using Seasons EP or higher, Sims will won’t autonomously dance outside in Winter.
– Tuneable gender dance preferences set. The default settings allow females to autonomously dance on toes at any time, but requires males to pass at least one extra test. Minimum Music & Dance enthusiasm is set to 6, minimum Activity and Niceness are set to 5.
– Outgoing sims to dance on toes, if they make pass the minimum Outgoingness level

3.) Less Stupid Play by BoilingOil

This mod limits some stupid autonomous Play in the following manner:
– “Red Hands” and “Rock Paper Scissors” will not be initiated by YAs, adults or elders, unless their Playfulness is 6 or higher. Also, whoever does initiate these games, will only target children or teens.
– “Show Off” will still only be initiated by children, of course, but they will NOT autonomously target anyone older than Teen.
-“Swing Around” is a bit special: children will not autonomously ask anyone older than Teen to swing them around. Anyone Teen or older may still autonomously initiate the Swing Around, but only if both Active and Playful are 6 or above, and they’re not visibly pregnant!
– Sims can still be directed to do any of these actions.

4.) No Auto Jump On Couch by Cyjon

Sims no longer autonomously jump on the couch.

5.) No Auto Pillow Fights by Cyjon

Prevents sims from starting pillow fights on their own. Player can still initiate them.

6.) Hidden interactions enabled by Gummilutt

With M&G, playful sims could now skip walking down the stairs and instead slide down on the banister. The interaction is available for Sims with a playfulness of 7,5 or higher. If your Sim visually appears to have 7 in playful, it may or may not be able to autonomously slide down banisters depending on what it’s exact value is.

This interaction is only available for children and teens. Spiral staircases, and the set straight staircases with railings have this interaction. Modular stairs do unfortunately not have this interaction. It works even if the stair is next to a wall, but there may be some clipping where the Sims arms go through the wall.

This mod comes in two flavors. Only use one.

Enabled For All: This version enables sliding down banisters for all Sims, regardless of personality. Only Sims with playfulness 7,5 or above will autonomously slide down, but you can direct any Sim to do it.
Only For Playful: This version only enables the interaction for Sims with with playfulness 7,5 or above. You can direct your Sims to slide down, but the option only appears if the Sim you are trying to direct is playful enough. These Sims can also autonomously slide down, just as before.

7.) Howl And Pillow Fight Fix by Lenna9

This mod removes the dog interaction on the Sim called Howl, which actually triggers a razzle game that is already in the Play… submenu.

8.) No Bogarting Swings by Pescado

Most sims teen and above will no longer bogart the swings. Certain sadly immature individuals who also seem to enjoy playing Pirate in bathtubs will continue to exhibit this obviously childish behavior, though.

9.) No Road Pillows by Pescado

Sims may no longer hold pillow fights in the road: The target must now be in the same room, and a nearby bed in the room is required.

10.) WF Sanity by Pescado

Tons of sanity and personality checks added to wants, including:
– No longer will want to play/etc. with people who aren’t here.
– Only kids and silly non-neat people want to balloon/snowball fight.

11.) No Autonomous Playing Catch by Squinge

This mod prevents sims from autonomously playing catch.

12.) No Autonomous Playing In Bath Tubs by Squinge

This mod prevents all sims from autonomously playing with the bath tubs.

13.) No Autonomous Playing Tag by Squinge

This mod prevents all Sims from autonomously playing tag.

14.) No Autonomous Rock Paper Scissors by Squinge

This mod prevents all sims from playing rock paper scissors unless you tell them to play.

15.) No Autonomous Water Balloon Fight

This mod prevents sims from autonomously having water balloon fights.

16.) More Fun While Playing with Sofas by Squinge

This mod increases the fun gain by 60% that sims get while jumping on sofas & chairs.
